What is Custom Sizing?
Custom sizing is a fantastic option for customers ordering bridal, bridesmaid, mother of the bride, and junior dresses who find themselves between standard sizes or fall outside our standard height range.
We craft the dress to your exact personal measurements—free of charge! It costs the exact same and takes the same amount of time to produce as our standard-size dresses, ensuring a silhouette that caters beautifully to your unique shape.

Is Custom Sizing a "Perfect" Fit?
While custom sizing provides a much closer fit than standard sizing, it is not a guaranteed perfect fit. Because we base the dress on a set of basic measurements, it does not capture every nuance of your unique body proportions or shape. You should expect to make minor adjustments with a local seamstress to achieve that flawless look.
For example, strap length is not entirely determined by the basic measurements provided. We intentionally leave straps on the longer side to accommodate different torso lengths, meaning they generally need to be tailored to fit your shoulders perfectly.
Alteration Reimbursement: To assist with this final tailoring step, we offer alteration reimbursements of up to $30 depending on the dress ordered. These funds help offset your tailoring costs, though SposaDresses is not responsible for any additional fees beyond this limit.
Important Measurement Rules
- Leave room for comfort: We recommend adding 0.25 to 0.5 inches to your bust, waist, and hip measurements for breathing room. Standard sizing has ease built-in, whereas custom sizing is made exactly to the numbers you provide.
- Do not size down: Please do not decrease your measurements even if you are planning to lose weight.
- Do not substitute sizes: Never order a custom size by submitting the measurements of a standard size chart. Always use your real-time body measurements.
- Custom Sizing vs. Custom Design: Custom sizing tailors the dress to your exact measurements, but it cannot change the fundamental design or proportions of the dress. We cannot make a floor-length dress into a knee-length design, or vice versa.
- Waistline concerns: If you are concerned about where the waistline will naturally hit your torso, styles with an empire waistline may be a safer choice, as they fit just under the bust rather than at the natural waist.
Note: Height & Hollow to Floor
Never alter your Height or Hollow-to-Floor measurements in an attempt to make the dress shorter or longer.
These two measurements are used to determine the entire proportion of the dress, including where the neckline, waistline, and hemline will fall. Falsifying these numbers may cause the waistline of your dress to move up to your neck.
Note: Please ensure you convert your height measurement to inches correctly at checkout. For example, if you are 5'6", your height is 66 inches (5x12 + 6), NOT 56 inches.
Return Policy for Custom Dresses
We understand that sometimes circumstances can change unexpectedly. However, please keep in mind that because custom-sized dresses are crafted specifically for your personal measurements, they cannot be resold.
Therefore, custom-sized dresses are strictly non-returnable for any reason. This includes, but is not limited to, wedding cancellations, incorrect ordering, or sizing changes.
